My 2011 was totaled and I found a 2016 with very low mileage, but it has really beautiful 20" wheels. Is there any decent all terrain tire that will fit? I don't do any real crazy stuff, but I do go on moderate rated trails a lot. Or do I just need to sell off the 20's and get me some 18's? Pick

Everyone's gonna tell you to sell the 20's and get 18's. Do what you want, man. If you prefer the look of 20's there's some pretty decent all terrain tires out there. I was going to put 20's on mine, but got a crazy good deal on some 18's, so I couldn't pass it up

I appreciate the spirit, but this isn't really subjective; it's objective.

OP, if the moderate trails you speak of are the kind that might slash a sidewall, I'd keep the 20's for street and get some 18's for off road. There just isn't a good all terrain tire with a strong sidewall available in a size that will fit on an LR4 with 20" wheels absent significant modifications.

I'm sure of you look hard enough, you'll find a nice set of tires for those 20's

Okay, so if I have to go to 18's what size can i go to without modifications. I do have the Johnson Rods 2.5 lift.

Yeah. I'm sure all the tire manufacturers are making the perfect tire, then hiding it.
I'm not sure what the right size would be for 20's, but I bet if I got the size, I could find a pretty decent tire

Also, who wants to go through the hassle of swapping wheels every time you want to go offroad? Sometimes I get off work at a decent hour, and just want to go. Don't want the hassle of switching wheels around

I've installed 265/65/18 Coopers. No changes needed at the wheel wells or with the frame horns. I did have to remove the plastic heat shield and deflate the spare to get it to fit.

265/65/18 seems to be the ‘safe’, no modification tire size for the 18s. Cooper, BFG and others all really good tires. Just remember you need spacers (1.25) so its not a trivial switch but if you can live with the ‘look’ of the 18s, you don’t need to switch out tires.

Really depends how much off road you plan to do and whether airing down the tires will be a big part of that. If you aren’t going to do a lot of that kind of trail driving, you can likely live with the 20s. I’m in the process of getting 18s put on in place of my 19s.

You only need spacers if running LR3 or similar wheels. Run 18s made for the LR4 and no spacers are needed. BMW style 99s also work with no spacers if you massage the front caliper find a smidge.

For tire size 265/65r18 in bfg or 265/60r18 in a more aggressive tire like an st Maxx fit with no mods other than proper wheels.
