Here’s the iKamper Skycamp 2X 2.0 on the LR4. This, the smaller 2-person version. Set-up and closedown take no time at all.

Do you have a couple of other shots of your ikamper? I don’t know if the 4-person would be too big for the LR4.

Question about your ikamper; can it fit 2 adults and 2 kids? I want to camp with my wife, but she's at afraid of bears and mountains lions (live in Colorado for now, close to the mountains). Would this fit us all for some overlanding?

The 4-man iKamper footprint is the same as the 2-man when folded up on the roof. There is no difference in terms of fit on the LR4 for either model.

The 4-man has an additional section that folds out once the shell is opened and extends the bed area. This is the more common iKamper sold.

In the case of the 4-man, the ladder connects to the extension. My 2-man has the ladder quite close to the rear passenger door of the LR4 but it works fine. One downside to the 4-man is less permanent storage room when closed as the extension takes up additional space. I like that I can leave quite a lot of bedding in the iKamper and therefore always know where to find it.

The 4-man would just extend 'out' with a platform, so, same size on LR4 but double the sleeping space.

In terms of space all I can comment on is the 2-man which definately can handle 2 adults with room to store a few things and even a dog - depending on size and sleeping attitude.

Mr. Jones - I bought, and had mine installed, by Altitude Industries in Arvada. They did a nice job.

This is awesome! Love that rooftop tent.
Can you strap things to the top once closed? Like surfboards / surfboard rack?
I have been slowly looking for one that would allow a rack installed on top, not sure if this would work as it folds. Regardless awesome set up!

I’m not sure you can on the SkyCamp (this model). There other brands (Roofnest is one) that pop-up vertically and have the ability to carry toys on top. Think IKamper has a new, different model that does allow additional mounting options.
