Hello. New to the forum. Not new to land rovers. Had a few over the years. The latest is a 2008 l322 which I absolutely adore. Nearly trouble free besides a couple minor items for all 120k miles. Love the truck but it’s age is showing. Most of which are winter in the snow, summer in the sand and mud, and all around off road in the Hudson valley in the fall and spring. All be it absolutely nothing too intense.
I always loved the lr4 and want to get a late model before they age too much. I’ve noticed a strong preference for the 2013 v8. I like the facelift and even though we all have to admit the electronics are dated I want the latest possible in the best condition truck.
Can anyone tell me the specific changes 2014-2016. Is any year better than the other? All the ones I’m finding have around 50k miles give or take. I drive very little. Usually less than 5-8k a year. Half that is highway getting where I’m going but I do spend a lot of time doing mild off-road. Basically one step beyond dirt roads. I also spend a lot of time in the sand on the cape in summer.
How are these with the 8 speed and different set up? Is one year truly a step above the others? Is there any major thing to look for and any options to possibly stay away from? Just any input. I know it’ll be suggested to go for an older but I’m really set on the facelift and a later model. As you can see from my 2008 which I bought in 2010 and still running strong 9 years later I’ll probably keep it quite a while so I just want to make sure I’m getting the best year. The 2008 rr seemed to be when they just got everything right and I think mine is proof. People think it’s way newer and way ore expensive and are shocked at the rise quality and capability.
Thanks for the input!
