As I mentioned earlier most filters seem to be identical except for a WIX I ordered from Rock Auto a few years back. Rock Auto couldn't explain why the filter in my hand was different than the filter on their website but I still used it. What was weird was it was made in Jordan. I have never had an auto part from that industrial powerhouse before lol. The pleats on the WIX were not reinforced look most but it was some type of synthetic material. I switched back to Mahle/Mann on subsequent filters.

I actually went by a few auto part stores yesterday and the WIX brands look just like yours and still say "made in Jordan". I had thought there were only two types of filters but after looking around it seems you can get a filter with white paper media, yellow paper media and the synthetic reinforced type(Original/Mann type).

After researching and holding a few filters in my hand....It seems that the ACDelco is by far the best bang for your buck. It looks and feel 100% the same as a Land Rover/Mann/Mahle/CarQuest "Made in China" synthetic reinforced Filter.

The ACDelco is $15 on Amazon and what I just ordered after looking at them all.

Premium Guard Extended Life PG6290EX(YELLOW MEDIA): Around $10
Actually says 99% efficiency as low as 25 microns

I bought a 6 pack of these off Amazon for about $8 ea.; no issues so far with the paper media, but I replace every 5k miles.

Is anyone running the filters with cloth media at the 15k mi interval?

Me. No issues. In a month I’ll post my lab results from 18k miles on one filter with amsoil.

Enjoying this thread guys - thanks. I tend to agree with Fuji4... I am DIY oil changer, but have been loyal to Rover and spend the money on "Gucci" Castrol and drain every 7,500 miles. At one point, I moved to the Mobil and to my ear - the car ran rougher. I am so far out of warranty that I don'e even remember when it expired, so I happily spend the extra Gucci cash on perceived "oil insurance"... Plan to drive this ca as my DD until it dies, and still love it.

I’m also a card-carrying member of the Gucci Gang. What filter are you using? I go with Mahle but this ACDelco option has me curious.

I still buy the Jaguar-branded filter... for some reason, it is $8 cheaper at the local dealer than the Rover part. Have used a Mahle purchased off Amazon and it worked great.

Oddly I never even thought to ask the dealer for pricing on the filter when I get my oil. I automatically assumed they would want $40 or more or some outlandish number. I will ask next time.
