Hey guys! Pretty new to this forum but would like to make a post to get some feedback and suggestions for my Rover.

I have 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography Black Edition. According to some research I did there were only 175-200 made in the black limited edition. It has 156,000 miles currently. Just had the timing chain and gears done about a month along with a new radiator, new thermostat and new water pump. I’m contemplating on posting it up for sale but have no idea on what price to list it for and have nothing to really compare to on the market because I’ve never seen any other black editions out there for sale. Would love to hear any reasonable price suggestions for this one, being that it’s a black edition. I was told it’s rare but have no idea how that should reflect on my price. I already checked KBB but believe their “pricing” isn’t right for this model. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

I would check with all the local used car buying websites, then add a few thousand.

It's likely pretty low on KBB...due to the recent maintenance, I would add just the maintenance cost to a KBB value of the "Good Condition" then, for negotiation purposes add 10%...
Great looking truck Romeos!
You should have no problem getting a good price.

For what it’s worth… I have a 2011 RR Autobiography, which I purchased for just shy of $30k in Dec 2021 with 89k miles. It had impeccable service history, was a So Cal/New Mexico vehicle (no rust), timing chains, tensioners, water pump, belts/hoses, all control arms, and a few other things had been replaced. I follow sites like BaT and it seems like I bought well as many of the known issues in the 5.0L SC L322 had previously been addressed. Dealer told me it was “black edition” because of the blackout trim, but I convinced them it was not because the grill doesn’t match yours and there was no literature to verify.

All that to say, I don’t know where the vehicle lives, but I think of the ~175 Black Editions that even fewer ended up in the US. So yeah, very rare, especially if in the US. I doubt there is anyway to know how many of these are still around or what condition they are. You do have fairly high mileage (good to see it hasn’t just been a garage queen!), but if maintenance records are good and common repairs/major concerns have been addressed, you might be able to pull in a nice price.

Thanks for the advice Tony! I’ll probably go that route.

Yup! When I bought mine back in 2020 I don’t think the dealership even knew it was a black edition at the time I purchased so got away with a good price for it:) and yes one of the options was a different grill for the black edition. I wasn’t too sure at first If it was an actual black edition but then I noticed the tailgate emblem, interior stitching and door cards say “Autobiography Black” and the paint is barolo black which in the sun I noticed has a red/burgundy reflection to it. I was luckily able to retrieve the original sticker for it just a week ago and finally verified it is the black edition.

And you’re right, it’s not a “garage queen” haha. Ive taken it through some pretty rough/rocky trails in the Sierra Nevada mountains, it’s what the truck was made for.

Now that you mentioned BAT, that might be an option. Would definitely need to finish putting some work in first to get it BAT “worthy”:).

Appreciate the feedback! And love the beautiful truck you have there!

Romeo, how did you get the original sticker? There's a 2011 for sale locally (other coast) that, while it has the tailgate badge for a ABB, I just don't see any other sign of "special" anywhere...chrome grill maybe, but it doesn't even have the nice two-tone AB seats. The pics I see may just be coincidentally not showing anything that would identify it as an ABB, or it's a counterfeit. I'm gonna call about it anyway, but I recently tripped over a RR pretending (not well) to be an SC so I'm leary of fakes.

Here’s the link to where I got my sticker https://monroneylabels.com/. Some of the Black Edition options were, the door cards say Autobiography Black, the rear center seat says Autobiography Black, the front grill is Black Edition and the other one is the paint, with the sun directly on it, it looks more burgundy/purple-ish.
