SCV6 Fuel Pump Duty Cycle - GAP IID

Wondering if anyone has been able to see live values for the low pressure fuel pump duty ratio on the SCV6 models. I tried to check mine today and got just "N/A" values for all the relevant fields I could find. Trying to figure out if my GAP tool or OBD is faulty, or if this is just another data field that can only be viewed on the V8 engines. Thanks for your help.

Went out and checked mine, and they also read N/A on my readout as well. It occurred to me after that test that it might have to have the temperature up to full, but that feels like a stretch?

Thanks for checking. Mine was hot, so I think the readings are just not available.

I asked GAP one time about why we couldn’t see the PWM readings on the injectors, and they said that if the readings are not showing in the tool, it’s because LR didn’t make them available. Not sure I’m convinced of that explanation. Injector PWM and duty cycle on the LP pump were clearly available to OBD and the GAP tool on the V8, and the ECM is still using these signals. Doesn’t seem logical that LR would have somehow changed their system so they are no longer available to OBD in the SCV6 model. Seems more likely GAP didn’t modify their software to capture the readings.

I asked GAP one time about why we couldn’t see the PWM readings on the injectors, and they said that if the readings are not showing in the tool, it’s because LR didn’t make them available. Same thing with knock ****** and, IIRC, one or two of the torque values. GAP says it's they're not exposed. I did spring for the Velocity AP data logging kit, and I have knock ****** for each cylinder separately, as well as multiple torque values. (I don't recall if it was requested/calcuated/measured/whatever). Maybe there's multiple ways of accessing the data (e.g. pulling from some OBD protocol vs reading the ECU over the CAN bus directory or something? Just speculating, I have no idea).

Update to this thread: I contacted GAP about the fuel pump duty cycle and they suggested updating the tool. It worked and we now have fuel pump duty cycle readings. We also seem to have gotten pressure readings for the low pressure side of the fuel system, and some other things I haven’t explored yet.

It looks like the updated GAP firmware now identifies the engine type and tailors the codes to that engine so (hopefully) it won’t keep showing fields that don’t apply, and will show more fields that do apply. I haven’t played with it much yet, so not completely sure what else has changed. But it looks like a good update for SCV6 owners.

Couple of things - if you haven’t updated the tool before, you need to follow the directions in the manual completely - update the tool then, leaving the tool attached to the computer, use your BT device (phone or tablet) to connect to the tool and update the software in the device app. My updater shut down prematurely once and I thought it was complete, but then seeing the instructions I ran it again and it completed the process.

The other thing I noticed was that, when I went to look at live values after the update, if I tried to use my saved live values, the app would quit (iPhone app). But it allowed me to select from the complete list. I think some of my saved values are probably no longer available and trying to open that window caused it to crash, so you might need to just recreate any saved categories.

I probably need to do this as well.. Curious, do you have the G3 or G4 tool ?
