Sweet pics!!! It looks like it was pretty muddy - are you running the stock 19" tires? How'd they do?

Thanks for sharing.

Rich,

I am running Michelin Synchrones, that I believe are more durable than the HPs but have the same non-aggressive tread. They did fine, but it really wasn't a "gummy" sort of mud. It was pretty firm in most spots.

I'm getting more serious about finding some old 18" rims and getting a more aggressive tire option for these weekends.

Also wanting some rock-sliders eventually. ...I don't really want to pay $500 for them so I might make them myself....still evaulating all that. Anyhow, this was a really fun run; the LR3 had no problems. There was one spot that I didn't attempt, because I'd just watched a lifted Disco II get stuck there and I knew I'd get hung up on some roots and tear off my (other) running board. As you can see from the pics, I'd already removed one of them.

Anyway, as usual....I fell more in love with the LR3 just as I do any time I take it off-road.

I noticed that - at first I was wondering what you all were doing on the ground underneath, but then I noticed your running board (and the following pics with it removed).

Again - great pics.

Nathan, you are right !

I have finally found a solution to the tire and wheel equation. I got an absolute STEAL on some rims today; will post pics when I pick them up as they are being shipped to Seattle from Texas.

...not my normal taste, but it's a decent looking chrome rim. The main thing is that they cost $70 per because the style was being discontinued; they were normally about $250!

Anyhow, they are 18s and I'm going to put Cooper Zeons on them. Offroading only ! I will keep my 19s with the Synchrones. I shouldn't be buying tires for a long time.

With that taken care of, I turn my attention towards protecting my truck. Sliders are on my list and I may want more skidplating too...at least over the T-case. I don't know if I am going to get the ones talked about on this forum.

I am going to work with a Rover shop in Portland on something custom potentially. Ideally they'd either mount under my side steps or use the same brackets (or bracket holes) that the side steps use and be removable.

It's at the Tahuya OHV Area...outside of Belfair which is SouthWest of Bremerton.

Check out this website: www.cascaderovers.org

I usually roll with them.
