Steering Wheel Controls

I've had my LR3 for a couple months and one of the things that irks me is that the volume control on the wheel is on the right side and not the left. It was on the left side in my Acura TL and my Tahoe Z71 before that, and I was quite used to changing stations or tracks with my right hand while driving and udjusting the volume with my left.

As I was driving to work yesterday it hit me. The LR3 was probably ergonomically designed as a right drive vehicle and thus the volume is on the right. It would probably cost too much to produce 2 seperate wheels.

Or I'm over thinking it. Just an observation.

Dont worry give it sometime. You will get used to it. I did.

I hear you

I had the same problem. My Discovery had controls on the left and so does the Jaguar. Makes sense to me, I've got one hand on the shifter, or doughnut or whatever, and I can steer wih the left and change the station or volume.
LR3 screws all that up. Heres where I crush you. I figured, they are just swithces, right? I can pull the leads and redo the switches the way I want. No Dice. the switches have different pin counts soldered in board and the harness is pretty fine. Way over my head for a possible warranty issue, and what if I off it and some one tries to jam, and instead sets the cruise, freaks out and something bad happens?
I'm still bummed, but, Oh Well!

It is the little things isn't it. I'm just happy that they saw fit to put the steering wheel on the left for US imports.
