Help...

...anyone know what this is? I found it dangling near my rear passenger side rotor while I was changing a tire. I figured out where it snaps into place, but I can't tell what it is or where it's supposed to terminate. My guess would be that it's an ABS sensor or other systems related to the brakes, of which there are many (HDC, ARM, TC). The other side on the rear did not have one of these, but the front appeared to (opposite corner). It looked to "plug in" at the back of the brake assembly.

Not positive, but it looks like it may be a brake wear sensor. My BMW has them on opposite sides front/back...

Okay...thanks. Can anyone confirm? That would be a relief since, to me, that is a lot less important than one of the other things I mentioned. Plus, I can just tape it off and when I next get the rears changed they can slap it back on.

There's a little brass clip that holds it in place in a groove that's formed into one of the pads. Since the sensor isn't in place, the clip has probably fallen out.

Actually I think I may've seen that clip. It just sits in there? I assume the sensing-face needs to face the brake pad.

I didn't check your site...but I did get the sensor snapped back on that afternoon. I should've updated...my bad.
