1996 or 1999 Whats the diff?

When you say '99, are you talking about '99 D1 of a 99'D2? The D2 has tail lights that are mounted higher up than the D1. I would get more info on the service records of both trucks before I made a decision. The 100K mark is when expensive stuff starts to let loose (Head Gaskets, Radators...

Coolant smell, sloshing sound, but Rad is full....any ideas?

I would say x2 on the air bubble, but check your head gaskets for leaks too.

    Discovery I wheel lug problem

Best bet is to get some replacements off of e-bay, or someone who sells used parts like Roverland Parts. I keep a half dozen in the glove compartment, and change out the stripped ones when I put my snows on. I now take my truck to a place that uses a torque wrench to tighten and loosen lug nuts.

1996 Land Rover Discovery Can't Shift Out of Park, No brakes Lights, Turning Signal

Don't test it, just replace it. Your turn stalk may be the culprit for the brake lights and turn signals

    Cooler weather = lower MPG

Your friend would be correct. " Winter" gas is probably already in your tank. Summer gas is more refined, resulting in cleaner burning fuel. Winter gas is not as refined, and therefore doesn't burn as good, decresing fuel economy. The good news is winter fuel doesn't cost as much for...

Although I'm not a big stop leak fan (I used to be) it sounds like you have too much air in your cooling system. Do a search on here regarding burping the coolant system. You don't want to continue to overheat your aluminum enigine, otherwise you will have big problems in the future...

    Rubbing with bigger tires

I know a lot of people swear by all season tires, but I still think snow tires are the best way to go.
