I wanted a rear utility flood light for working on the floor, lowered hatch, and night activities around the back of the truck. I looked for a location and settled on an attachment to the hatch top trim. This allows swivel pointing to the right and left as well as onto the loading deck and behind. I wanted a switch and a dimmer for the bright LED fixture.

I selected a flood light from the marine store.
The light is a Westbar Products #54209-002 Flood 10 watt for $67.00.

I added a toggle switch and a LED dimmer that I took out of it's housing. I ran the 18 ga. wires across the top trim and down the drivers side C pillar into the rear under floor area. I added a 30 amp Anderson connector to be plugged into a fuse block at that location.

More impressive than what I did.

Per the link below are a few files that show what I added to illuminate the interior cargo area only, (but not outside). I took power off that interior rear dome light but my lights do not draw much power and are effectively controlled by the main dome light circuit - good and bad so to speak.

Replace the ***** with disco3 co uk and put a period between each of the two spaces.

I see that Wesbar infers the 10 LED rectangular light draws 10 watts so I suppose that is a bit under an amp. Well the W5W dome light is about half that so maybe the circuit would be good for an extra amp.

See page 28 of the pdf catalog per the Wesbar link below.
