So, the new 2012 HD has bad drip on drivers side VC. So I'll have to do them. Any recommendations on injector puller?
Shell out for a Baum, or save and get identical clone?

For bonus points, who has had an injector that would not come out, broke or other horror?

Thanks all.

Ordered new VC's, but don't want to get a bad tool. Tips/tricks are appreciated. I think roverrange said he used a rope on the slide to give him extra snap to pop em out.

I used an Amazon puller as well.

Drivers rear injector was the hardest to get because of space, but otherwise all injectors pulled out fine. I think the key is just making sure you are pulling straight up. Its easy to pull them at an angle which probably contributes to them breaking.

FWIW I might would try without a puller; when I did my big 120k mi service I broke the electrical connector on the back driver side injector. I was dreading it, thinking it would be a massive headache, but I put a little pressure on it with a flathead screw driver, and it popped right out.

Welp....passenger side is swapped. No drama. 5-8 whacks of the slide pull and they all popped out. Drivers side is next up

How did you get to the valve cover bolts, does removing the box give you access to the bolts on the exterior parameter?

The battery box/ abs pump sides? Yeah I removed both left and right 1/2 of the boxes. There's a seam through the bottom, you can just take off the half closest to engine. Took oil filter out too to get Valve cover out

Yeah, the battery box. It looks to clear up a bunch of space. A mechanic did my valve covers so I was curious how hard it was to gain access to the mounting bolts.

As an aside, with a LSx engine, there is one cam so trade-offs are made to gain low RPM vs high RPM when selecting the profile. I like that pic because it also shows the dual cam profiles that it can switch between for low or high RPM's.

With the box sides removed, it opens up a bunch of space. I found the trickiest to be very bottom rears and down along the bottom of the valve cover tight against the wheel wells/frame.
