I've got a new 08 with only 7k miles on it, and this happens every time for me. But I usually lower to access height when parked, which lets the air out of the suspension. I hear it more since I put the rock sliders on, because the insulation cover had to be removed. I wouldn't worry about it...
:proud: My hero
After doing Lockwood Miller a couple weekends ago, I'm still going to need to do Yoga for a couple more months before attempting anything like that. Nice job.
Yes, I just flip the wind deflector back into the basket first. With it forward, I can only open it back about half way. But I don't like driving around at freeway speeds with it open anyway. I only really open the sunroof while off road, so I don't really need the wind deflector then anyway...
The front of the Urban Offroad one doesn't have a floor, so you can only really load stuff in the back part (same length as the rails on your LR3). But it is good for mounting lights as pictured, if you want that. I ended up getting the Brownchurch, because of the even lower profile. I only...
 I can think of better ways ...
Speaking of the compressor, you will notice a lot more noise from it, as your suspension changes height. It is necessary to remove the noise damping cover in order to install the sliders.
Did the same thing to the rear driver's side one last weekend, except on a boulder (Lockwood Miller). I was just going to get the piece from the dealer next time I'm in for service. Can't be that much. It's only a small piece thankfully. Seem pretty easy to pop on and off yourself as well. This...
I had an unlocked Sport before and it never showed locked on the rear diff even in Rock Crawl on the steep stuff. Seems like that would be a malfunction if it wasn't locked but was showing that it was. Hmmm..
No experience, but my only comment would be that you're leaving yourself pretty exposed still if you don't have the standoffs. Option 1 only wraps the bottom, but doesn't even come out to the width of the doors, so you could still ding the bottom of your doors pretty badly. But if you don't like...
Yes, Option 2. I didn't want the full skid plate all the way out. Mud an water just flow through this way. Spiker has the Options 3's though, and there are good drainage holes. I just liked the #2's better.
No holes need to be drilled. They are made to bolt on to the frame itself into existing...
I paid a shop to put mine on, and they did it with two guys in slightly under 2 hours. They said they were the easiest to install sliders they ever put on a Rover before. They put the LR3 on a lift about a foot off the ground, then one guy just "bench pressed" the slider up in place, while the...
Not to contradict the all knowing "Umberto" :hello: , but the screen will not show both locks switching concurrently if you don't have the rear locking diff. It will always leave the rear one showing as unlocked. Only the center one will switch to locked. But if you have the rear locking diff...
255/55/18's would look silly small on an LR3. Yes they would fit though. I thought my 255/55/19 originals looked small before I replaced them with 285/60/18's for off road. But 255/55/18's would be even an inch smaller. I wouldn't recommend it.
Great Shots. Thanks for sharing. I love Colorado. We just got back a week ago from Great Divide III with Off Roving, and I'm still daydreaming about the trip.
Those look like the two holes left from the brush bar/metal one, like this.
If you remove the A Frame bar pictured above, you will be left with 4 smaller holes - two on each side where the bolts go through the bumper to the frame at the bottom. Here's a close up of one side where you can...
Just a little. Tilt mode is fine obviously. But you can't open it back all the way with the wind deflector down. I don't really drive with it open at full speed though. At trail speeds, wind noise isn't really a factor, in which case I would just flip back the wind deflector into the rack and...
The only downside on the Brownchurch was the wind noise. It was considerable and I wasn't looking forward to my 1000 mile drive to Colorado. However, it turned out to be a simple fix. I bought a 44" Thule wind deflector from REI, and now it's like it's not even up there. Can't hear a thing. And...
