I had a serpentine belt tensioner issue that only made noise when I pushed on the accelerator (when I was moving or stopped). Have them check that, it only takes a few seconds.
I am experiencing some steering wheel vibration during high speed braking (from 65 or 70 mph). I am assuming rotors. I am at almost 80k miles and I had the first set replaced about 40k, if I remember correctly. Any other possibilities I should look for?
Oddly enough, the same two symptoms happened to me after an aggressive automated car wash managed to put water in my 2005 LR3. Poured into the passenger compartment from the bottom right of the center console. The suspension light was just brief; and briefly went on again when I hit a puddle...
I just had water come in from the OPPOSITE side of the passenger compartment. I went through a car wash w/the AC/HEAT on OFF and water poured in the passenger well from the right side of the stereo area. Weird. What drains are there--or did water come in through the air intakes at the windscreen?
Thanks for the info. Mine came without a "sleeve"--which is why I was asking. I guess the "sleeve" is the extension part that I have to buy separately from the tent. I intend to use the "day tent" at night as a means to get air, but fewer bugs, into the cabin, in which my kids will sleep...
Reporting back--have had the Pirelli ATRs for a couple weeks. Excellent handling in rain and on dry pavement. Very quiet. Can't wait to see them in other conditions--will be going to the Rockies later this year. Internet reviews suggest that they will last much longer than the other...
I just had my 05 LR3 in for the 67,500 mi service and they called my wife and said "we think you will like the ride better if we replace all your tie rods...." So we did. Hmmm.
I just got Pirelli ATRs put on my 2005 SE7 today. I'll try to write back in a few weeks with my thoughts. Previously I had the Goodyears, which are terrible. And, I had the Pirelli Scorpion Zeros, which were great but wore out too fast.
If you mean completely turn off the wipers, put the wiper stick in the bottom position. You know you are at the bottom when one more push down manually sends the wipers across once. That way, if you get a few drops of rain on the windshield, you can occasionally manually clear the screen--this...
My wife had the umpteenth flat in a Goodyear tire on our 05 LR3 (70k miles) this morning. Between two complete sets of Goodyear tires, we ran Pirellis, which were great. Better in snow, quieter and smoother on dry pavement. But our LR dealer refused to put another set of them on because "they...
I think I mentioned this elsewhere on this website, but I had similar problems to what I see in this thread and the replacement (Interstate) battery only temporarily helped. Turned out it was a "diode fault" in the alternator. One new alternator and $700 later, everything seems fine. [I have...
I had my battery replaced after faults. I had the dealer and a local guy test the battery, and it was pretty far gone. The replacement, however, has died rather quickly (think weeks, not years). Stupidly (?), I had had the LR dealer replace the battery, thinking that they would use some...
I didn't really have an option. My wife wouldn't drive the car with the airbag light on. The dealership refused to do the work unless I agreed to pay. They pointed out that my VIN # was BEFORE the recall period (October 2004 build instead of November 2004--of course I know this is silly...
While the stealership was busy telling me that my vehicle was too EARLY to qualify for the steering wheel/clockspring/airbag recall (and charging me $1000 to fix it), they DID (at my request, and to be nice) re-flash my transmission ECU for "free." The lurch--that never really went away the...
I took my 2005 LR3 SE7 to the dealer for service about six months ago. As part of the service, they rotated the Goodyear tires. They also noted that the Goodyears were (surprise, surprise) beginning to get some "cupping," but not dangerously so. After the service, at particular speeds (around...
Well, my dealer point blank refused to do the work without my promise to pay. And, I unfortunately work too much to be more actively involved in the debate. And, I didn't want to chance my wife driving around with a bad airbag. So, I guess I have to take it up with higher powers at LR after...
My car is currently at the dealer -- I don't have my VIN # with me, but I took possession of my 2005 LR3 on Dec. 4, 2004. I just took the car in for an airbag light being on. The dealer is telling me that the clockspring broke, but that it is not the recall problem--so I need to pay $500...
The same thing happened to me two summers ago (2005 SE7). It happened during a vacation with the truck fully loaded up. LR had to break into the rear hatch; they replaced the latch and the plastic around the latch. It happened approx 1 week after I loaded a very heavy grill into the back of...
In a Volvo I owned, I got this message when the vacuum pump was breaking down. It apparently couldn't keep up the pressure for certain aspects of the "cruise control" controls.
