diagnostic center box???
So I was in the process of bypassing my factory amp the other day and I was working under the passinger seat. I had seen a little square box that said "diagnostic center" on it! Can any one tell me what this is for? Maybe a code reader for the obd1??? If so how do...
Thanks for the response, Chongo. I've read a number of your posts, and have found them very helpful, particularly with regard to The Amigos. A quick question for you: do you think the dealer's trying to cover a boat payment with the push for the valve job, or might there be something to this? It...
At least I know I'm not alone . . .
Hello, all.
As an owner of a 2001 Disco II, I'm finding this forum to be a source of much relief and more than a little helpful info. I'm struggling with Los Tres Amigos along with everyone else, it would appear, and am also enjoying the heady scent...

what is with the first spark plug?
Went to change the spark plugs in my 2001 Discovery II, and the first one nearest the air filter just will not thread more than halfway. I've been with it for 2 hours and every angle i try, no good. Any clues...
Many of you have e-mailed me on a complete list on OBD2 trouble codes Before using this list, be aware that OBD2 is not completely compatible with Land Rovers diagnostic systems.
The protocol and communication baud rate between OBD2 and Land rovers processors are...
a little bit on Bosch's wasted spark system
Bosch’s Wasted spark system. How this works, is one cylinder is at a certain position BTDC, and when the ECM triggers an ignition coil to spark, current from the coil travels to one spark plug jumping the...
Obd2
Also, the ABS light is not on, kinda interesting given the code is an ABS fault. The ABS light comes on at start up and clears, then comes back and stays until 5-10 mph, just like it should.
Think I'll go to Autozone first and clear it, see if it come back.
Hello...
That that problem right there Chongo. I resently replaced the Relay from Roverparts so it seems it down to my computer.
I wouldn’t say that yet.
Is there something you had done recently, or a shop did recently to you...
heated.......
Code 44 and 45. Looks like I got a Heated O2 problem.
What is the best way to fix this problem or where can I fine this problem. It seem that my Heated O2 Sensors are not shutting themselves off when my 1994 Land Rover Discovery is not running or they won't shut off when the...
must press in bushings
Just had tires balanced and they checked out. Pan hard rod bushings just replaced....I will check the radius arm bushings. Do they have to be pressed?
I used a press on my friends Rover, but there’s two on the axle housing and one...
Ace
Also, I don't know if your model came with the ACE system or not. I'm not showing a listing in my manual for a 95, but if it does have one, try pulling the fuse and take it for a test drive, the ACE system could be causing this, I just...
Radius arms/ panhard
Radius arms:
Radius arms connect to the axle housing one on each side, and then connect to the frame of the vehicle, a good but not always accurate test is to stop the vehicle abruptly while going slow, and let...
Have not checked or replaced those. However, you will have to point me in the right direction on where it is at and how to check.
Also check the panhard rod bushings, this rod keeps the axle from swaying from side to side. If everything is tight below mechanically...
Radius arm bushings?
Already done that as well. And I did not have any play. I even used a long bar to put more pressure than I could do by hand.
But this is what I love about the LR family...............a total stranger trying diligently to help. You are appreciated...
wheel movement
I don't have any play in the steering.........very tight.
Ok If you have a jack that you can use or borrow to lift up the axle housing. Jack one side at a time up a few inches only off the ground and as hard as...
Wheel movement
You don't have to hit a very big bump. Something small will do the trick and then it will shake the steering wheel out of your hand until you slow down. I can even hang out the window and see the tires oscilating. Wheel bearings seemed good today when checked...
Death Rattle?
Ok guys reaching out once again for some guidance. I have done some front end work to my Disco I (new steering box, steering stabilizer, pan hard rod bushings, and all four tie rod ends). I got the alignment done today after I put the tie rod ends on and it still has a death...
