    GAP tool and suspension height

The "height control" is similar to the actual button to lift/lower the vehicle and the oem restrictions apply. Calibration is to calibrate the height sensors according to factory specs. I recommend staying within a 15mm or 1/2" from factory specs posted on the guided version. Anything more or...

Trusted transmission shops in LA area?

It kinda sounds like a mechanical issue to me. It's probably cheaper to get one on the used market. I replaced mine for about $2400, that's including labor with body on.

UPDATE - Gasoline Odor - Is This Dealership BS??

Get it done soon. Fuel vapors are highly flammable. Not worth it, especially when there a recall on it.

Timing chain - advice - sigh

It sounds pretty normal to me. Then again mine sounded similar, but a bit rougher than yours on idle. You can try removing your engine cover, hood liner, and drive it up a steep hill, which is how I heard a brief unusual sound and knew my chains were in need of service. If you have the Gap IID...

LR4 5.0 V8 - recent timing chain service with 4 new camshaft adjusters - still seems somewhat noisy??

The first time I did my timing chain, I had the same noise. If you look at the live data from a code reader (Gap IID Tool) for intake camshaft degree (something like that). Normally it should be around 100 (+/-30) degrees, if it's in the 200 (+/-30) degrees then it's off by just that much and...

    2013 LR4 - Weird Humming Noise

I've been stalking these part numbers on/off for years, they've been out of stock everywhere or I couldn't find it. I finally go a hold of it on Rimmer Bros and installed it. I seriously tapped out the hole since 2019.

Timing chain - advice - sigh

I'm about to do this. My wallet is exhausted from these $100+ frequent oil changes! Liquid Moly here I come.

    Air Suspension Compatibility...

The b6 is heavy duty and meant to carry the additional weight of skid plates (all of them) and extra weight of gear. When fully outfitted it'll in theory ride like oem without any additional weight. The b6 on a stock body would ride stiff and rough. Only if they made adjustable shocks for these...

Oh, my fault, I didn't notice that. This will definitely do it, 6mm to 1/4 npt.

    sagging confirmed, now what?

You don't need to remove any of the fender liners to check, except for the RH passenger front side for the front valve block. If you have the Gap IID Tool, you can check the live values for the valve blocks, galley pressure, and probably height sensors.

    sagging confirmed, now what?

You should pull fuses F3 (main suspension power) and F26 (compressor power). Soapy water is your best bet. Spray all 4 struts at the fittings and possibly air bags if you can get to them. Spray all 3 valve blocks all over the body and fittings. Spray the compressor at the fittings, especially at...

    Be Professional, Be Polite, But...

You can do this to make your own EAS bypass. This kit will simply go directly into your air strut, so make 4 of them. 6mm to 1/4 npt, 1/4 npt schrader valve, and 6mm tubing. If you're doing field repairs, you may want these 6mm unions.

    Be Professional, Be Polite, But...

Make your own EAS kit, you need 6mm pneumatic air tubing and 6mm push-fit schraeder valves. Unfortunately, you can't find 6mm push-fit schraeder valves in the US. 1/4" push-fit schraeders are too big on 6mm tubing. Anyhow, always have a plan is THE #1 plan. I have always have an EAS kit, extra...

Engine runs rough on cold startup after new spark plugs installed

Before you believe the mechanic that doesn't have the proper tools to test, I would suggest doing a couple of things to check if it's really your head gasket before dropping $15k on a used motor. Easiest way is to combustion test it, . Compression test to somewhat narrow it down.

    LR4 air suspension stays up!

Sounds like you should recalibrate the suspension on leveled flooring with the Gap IID Tool, if you have one.

Better tyres on which axle (heavy, asphalt mostly)?

Technically in any 4x4 you want even wear and similar diameter tires. Otherwise, you can put strain on the transfer case and ultimately in the transmission with different tire rotations. Luckily, the Rover is smart enough to compensate minor differences. Here's my 2 cents, if you have the HD...

    Vacuum Question

Yeah, what @roversaid. What you circled is also a great way to remove the majority of air pockets in the block. Just remove the black clip and pop off the black coolant return hose from the gray pipe. That'll help with the overheating issue due to air pockets in the cooling system.

    LR4 air suspension stays up!

Do you have lift rods? It might think that it's "too low" and out of range of your height sensors, which would try to lift it back up. Best bet is to recalibrate your suspension with oem rods, whether you have lift rods or not.

    Quick Brake Change Tool Question

I have this thin wrench set and it's served me well in different applications. It's also one of the better chrome reinforced wrenches that I keep in the truck all the time. https://a.co/d/fGvF3lG

Remind Me Again Why We Love These Things?

Good point. I seriously tracked my charging system for a whole month. Gap live values for battery quiescent current, state of charge, battery current (A), and battery voltage. It always ranged between 40% - 80% battery life and alternator load. No direct relationship either. The battery voltage...

Remind Me Again Why We Love These Things?

I'm putting that on my bucket list. Maybe in a year or 2 I'll do it, or maybe sooner if it starts getting weird on me. I think my current alternator is about 4 yo, trying to maximize roi on it.

Remind Me Again Why We Love These Things?

I'm on the same damn boat. I'm never selling it either, especially with all the love ($$$$$) I poured into it. I've put so much time into it that I know it's going to last with the proper maintenance that I do on my own. If I'm able to remove the heads to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets...
