My Cargo Door Hydraulic Arm Broke

The exact same thing happened to me last week. I am now (barely) out of warranty. I ordered a replacement pivot bolt (only $1.53) and should arrive this week. The threads on the original pivot bolt are stripped. Cannot yet tell if the bolt inside the D pillar is also stripped.

    Has anyone's "transmission jerk" returned?

Todd, Unless your SA can produce a TSB that details this "solution", I'd say he is (knowingly or not) blowing smoke up you @$$. You might as well just drive in circles a few times and click your heels together. The problem is within the program module that controls the ZF transmission...

    Extended Warranty

I'm with gtc on this one. Currently out of warranty and did not buy extended. If I spend more than $3-4K on repairs in the next 24 months, then I'll eat some crow. But I'm fairly sure that these warranty companies are in business to make a profit, and they do that by taking in more...

    New Lr4!!!!!!!!

Overall, I like the updates (except the tail lights). Will hold final judgement until getting time behind the wheel. Did anyone else notice the dual side vents/gills? Also the article mentions new tires. Wonder if this means and end to the Wrangler HP's? Anyone attending the NY Auto...

    Steering shimmy during brake application?

Sounds like a classic rotor surface issue. Just curious, when you mention "new brakes at 50K", did that include rotors or just pads? Was the work done by an LR dealer (using LR parts) or aftermarket?

    Stalling In 2006 RR Sport

Very odd that a stall would not register a fault code, especially if you are getting the message on the display and warning lights too. Do you have a video camera? You could get a passenger with you to record the issue above and show the dealer. Could be a fuel pump, but that is just a...

HDC Fault, NAV Memory and Battery Lifespan

My dealership replaced the battery in our 2005 HSE one month prior to warranty expiration. Looks like 4 years is a consistent lifespan. The vehicle was not showing any symptoms (Navi behavior, HDC faults, etc), and I did not report any problem. The dealership took the initiative to replace...

    Rad-1

Here is the Lincolnometer. It is more intended for measuring cornering G-forces in my MINI rather than incline, but the same physical forces are at work. Cost is just a penny.

Very true. I was out to dinner last night with a group of 40 from our local MINI club. One of our newest members is president of the local LR club. Small world...

    bearing noise comming from motor

Just want to point out that you aren't helping your case with the numerous contradictions: First, it has over 200 miles and you agree to buy it back after repairs. Then it has less than 100 miles and you won't take it back. If it was simply an alternater issue that was repaired, then...

    Final warranty service checklist

Thanks for the responses. I should have also mention that free maintenance and roadside assistance expire at the same time. Time to go shopping for a new roadside assist program. Anyone using AAA or similar offering? I've used them in the past, but it's been a while since I've had a...

    Final warranty service checklist

Last week was a milestone. The factory warranty expired at 50K miles, just a few weeks shy of 4 years of ownership. Just finished the final service visit under warranty, and thought it would be a good idea to share. There were several common LR3 issues, and some not-so-common problems...

    Has anyone's "transmission jerk" returned?

Follow-up report At the last service visit, I reported this issue to the dealership. As previously mentioned, I did have the B036 service campaign updates already applied, but that did not fix the problem. The dealership downloaded the ECU and transmission modules again, and for now the...

Should you hear any air release when you turn the truck off

Thanks for the feedback, I am checking with the dealer. For those who state it only happens with the door closed (self leveling after turning off the ingnition), please try an experiment for me. The next time park the truck this weekend, open a back door and wait about 2 minutes to see of it...

Should you hear any air release when you turn the truck off

What year are your LR3s? My vehicle self levels with the doors open, has done this from day 1. Other owners reported the same, but perhaps it is a 2005 thing. To clarify, you cannot use the manual ride height control with a door open. The interlock prevents that. But I definately self level...

    LR3 with NO radio/CD volume

There was an infotainment software update available for 2005 LR3's. Specifically, it fixed an issue with the CD player remaining "on" even if it wasn't playing through the speaker system. This was a particular issue on the HSE with rear sound controls. I do not recall a specific TSB for...

Should you hear any air release when you turn the truck off

Yes, this is normal operation. The air suspension is re-leveling about 30-45 seconds after you turn off the ignition. I only wish that it was smart enough to wait if there is still a door open. Too many times, my kid is still getting out of the back when it does this. Edit: After much...
