Well, that sucks. The show must go on...(long story)

I don't have any useful input on welding vs replacing, etc, but if its a matter of just physically transporting the car somewhere else, is it not possible to put the parts in a box or two in the back, and have it flatbed'ed to another shop or welder ? I assume the body hasn't been lifted off...

Using third row map lights as extra cargo lights

Gotcha. My concern was more if I'm feeding +12 back into the output of the BCM (I'm assuming BCM is controlling lights). Didn't think of LED tape, that might be the way to go.

Side View Mirror replacement not auto dipping

Just thinking out loud here, but the auto-dip position is programmable, right? I wonder if the motors (presumably a servo with some kind of rotary encoder) have to be sync'ed with the seat memory module. Try that. Make sure auto-dip is enabled, start the car, shift into reverse, and adjust...

Side View Mirror replacement not auto dipping

Did you look on the back of the motor ; I want to say that's going to determine if memory they support memory.

Using third row map lights as extra cargo lights

Just popped in an LED in the rear cargo area light, I appreciate the improvement but think it'd be even better to also use the two third-row map lights as cargo lights as well. I shouldn't hurt anything if I were to tap the positive from the rear-most cargo light and fish it under the...

    Reactivating TPMS

Turned TPMS for spare back on, drove out to go hiking, and everything magically works now.

    Reactivating TPMS

Thanks, I didn't even think of that. I did e-mail the original CCF to myself before I started messing with anything. My original was indeed WBL. In the original, I also had TPMS fitted to spare set to yes, which I failed to turn back on. I'll give that a try in the morning and see if it fixes...

    Reactivating TPMS

Trying to get TPMS back for winter. I previously deactivated TPMS during summer since I had tuffants and the HUF sensors that were cloned off the factory sensors would trigger the light half the time. I set Tire Pressure Monitoring 1 to “none” and Tire Pressure Monitoring 2 to “none” in the...

    Landrovermerriamparts.com gone?

Same. Last order I used Land Rover Cary.

Any way to tell if timing chain/guides/sliders are original to vehicle?

Based on that repair order, I can't tell if the actual chain were replaced, or just the guides/tensioners. If the chains were not replaced, one possibility is that the chain itself has "stretched" -- of course, the chain doesn't really stretch, but wear at the link pins results in a situation...

    TPMS settings with IID tool

2016 definitely uses 433 Mhz. I believe the switch on the LR4 happened for the 2013 model year. It looks like LR3 uses 315 Mhz for all years (https://www.roverparts.com/wheels-tires/tire-pressure-sensors/LR032836/ ) so I don't think you'll be able to use those sensors.

Starting and Rough Idle then Shutdown issue

OK, weird. I was going to suggest checking ground points (esp the one under the pass wheel well) but if it is cranking fine now, I assume ground path is established. It's weird you don't have any codes for the ECU. I don't know what your issue is, but I can tell you when I had an injector...

Starting and Rough Idle then Shutdown issue

"goes black" -- Do you mean lost ALL electrical, or just engine died? This probably explains why I had such a tough time starting the LR4 when still wearing snowshoes.

    LR4 market question

Hey hey hey, I think you meant "stupid rotary gear shift that fails at inconvenient times"

    Wire Loom Cover

I think most of the HSEs were ordered with the Climate Comfort package, which included heated front & rear seats, heated windshield and washer jets, and steering wheel. When I was looking for my second LR4, I saw a few in CA and FL that didn't have heated seats. Slightly different control...

    CTEK battery maintainer cable routing?

I can see the advantage of always having it there.... I just figure if I'm going somewhere to charge, I can throw the charging unit in the car. I am lucky enough to have a garage. I'm guessing those 100W panels aren't putting out anywhere near that under 20W fluorescent bulbs though

    CTEK battery maintainer cable routing?

This looks cool -- no idea why it says "will not work with CTEK chargers" That will probably be the way to go -- was just trying to save myself the (admittedly small) amount of labor.

    LR4 market question

New RR sounds super exciting. A couple of months ago I did the CarMax online quote thing - they offered 40K for my 2016 LR4 Lux, HD, 45K miles.

    CTEK battery maintainer cable routing?

Ahh, you're thinking to mount the CTEK in the car. I was just wanting to leave the "ComfortConnect" plug (its like an updated version of the commonly used SAE plug) hanging out the front and not keep the charger itself under the hood.

    CTEK battery maintainer cable routing?

Apologies in advance if this is a rudimentary question -- I'm trying to figure out an easy way to leave a few inches of cable hanging out the grill for easy connection to a battery maintainer. I'd like to be able to connect / disconnect without opening the hood. I can initially lead wires...

    Misfiring Cyl 2/4/6 ?? 2015 LR4

Not sure if this will affect your idle issue, but there is an extended warranty out there for the O2 sensors. https://landroverforums.com/forum/attachments/new-discovery-v-51/54049d1617204546-o2-sensors-extended-warranty-exhaust-system-oxygen-o2-sensor-extended-warranty.pdf Edit -- I see your...

    Defender vs. Mazda mx5.

High center of gravity is a *****. This is why they say to steer straight if you're going off the road. Not sure if our LR4s would be in such good shape after rolling 6 times.

    Tuffants with Schrader TPMS

Here's another datapoint -- I put HUF UVS sensors in tuffants on my 2016 -- pretty weird, most mornings 2 sensors will be detected by the car, throwing the light after about 20-30 minutes.
