Q About Changing Shocks & Brakes

OK I changed out the ABS accumulator & she brakes much better now, plus the BRAKE warning light doesn't come on when I depress the pedal. I still get the TC & ABS lights after a while so I'm thinking it might be a sensor.

Range Rover Radio Wire Color Codes

Got the radio working, just needed to enter the code I think, which was difficult because the display is totally washed out.

Range Rover Radio Wire Color Codes

I managed to secure a stock radio for my 96 Range Rover. I had to reconnect all the wires that were cut off. Does anyone have a picture of the 8 prong plug (the white one) so I can figure where the wires should go? Most of the wires are in there but a few are out of place & I can't get the...

    Headlight Wiring

Thanks Joey, I figured this out minutes after I posted this. The connectors were in tact & I was able to just buy the bulbs & install them. The rear covers are missing tho. As fo the fogs, I'll have to rig it up a bit.

    Headlight Wiring

The PO did a butcher job on my 1996 4.0SE with the headlights & fog lights when he had HID lighting installed. I just took it all out & it looks like the connectors for the headlights & fog lights are missing. Would someone please post a link or pictures of the headlight & fog light...

Q About Changing Shocks & Brakes

After doing a little research I just pulled the trigger on a set of Pro Comp ES9000 shocks. I got a great deal at $129 for all 4 from 4wheelonline.com. I'm sure this will tighten her back up. As far as the ABS/TC/BRAKE lights, I noticed just now that the ABS kicks in at low braking. I...

    Interior lights pulsing/flickering

Sorry, it's a 1996 Range Rover 4.0SE. I will check the fuses tonight as yesterday, every time I went out to check it, it started raining. Do you have a link to the fuses, you know, which is for what?

    Interior lights pulsing/flickering

Everything was OK, then I went out & got in the truck & the dash lights were out, speedo not working & the HVAC temp lights out/pulsing along with the footwell lights. The driving lights turn on well & everything else seems to work properly. What could it be? The truck does have aftermarket...

Q About Changing Shocks & Brakes

Someone on another forum said this can't be bad shocks. The reason I first suspected the shocks was that on other cars (I have owned 10 other cars) when one shock blows or goes dead the uneven dampening is evident especially on even dips in the road. Since the Rangie is higher up in the air...

Q About Changing Shocks & Brakes

The Rangie has 120K on the clock. I have no idea of service history. All I know is everything that was wrong with the 4.6 is good on the 4.0 & vice versa.

Q About Changing Shocks & Brakes

Just picked up a 96 4.0 & the right front dips more than the rest of the truck when going over bumps. Plus the overall ride is just sloppy so I'm thinking it's time to replace the shocks. Before I do this, could it be anything else? The EAS is functioning properly. Also, when I depress...

Will Check Engine Light Automatically Go Out After O2 Sensor Replaced?

I just replaced it & it is a direct fit, the wires are even the same colors. I'll just drive for 100 miles & see, if not I'll go by my buddy's shop & clear the code. Thanks!

Will Check Engine Light Automatically Go Out After O2 Sensor Replaced?

I got a CEL & diagnosed & found it is sensor 2 bank 1. Once I change it will I have to get the CEL reset or will it go out after I drive 100 miles? BTW, I found a Bosch replacement O2 sensor at www.racepages.com for $77 shipped.

Body change from 1998 to 2000?

IIRC the only body changes between those years were the clear/smoked ambers, smoked headlamp surrounds & a painted front bumper & side mirrors. More significantly, the engine changed to the Bosch/BMW & it had dual exhaust & only 2 O2 sensors. http://www.rangerovers.net/modelspecs/index.html

    1998 RR HSE Engine Problem.....

Wow that sucks. When I bought my 97 the seller stated that it just had oil service amongst other things. I checked the oil when I pulled into the gas station for a fill up on the way home (3 hour drive) & guess what? No oil! None. A good habit to have is to visually check the oil at...

General questions about your ownership experiences

Do yourself a favor & buy a P38 (1996-2002). Many of the problem with the classic models have been solved & generally they're more reliable. If you're planning to spend only $4,000 on a Range rover, most probably you'll spend a lot more on repair. I live in NYC & I pay $1600 a year for...

    pre-purchase questions (stereo + paint)

As far as the trim moldings, I have successfully painted the black (over time they turn grey) moldings on my BMW Convertible with a trim paint bought at Autozone for about $5. The stuff works great. Gets the black & looking like new but not too shiny. As soon as the weather breaks here in New...
