Its a intake leak tester
That one is for my audi its a 2.5" PVC end cap with a hole drilled in the Center where you put a rubber valve stem in you then pull your maf sensor off and put that in place. And use a tire air chuck to put shop air in regulated to 8-10 psi but pop the oil fill cap off...
Or you can use intake medic and spray it around. Or use a intake tester that goes in right where the maf is and pop oil fill off and air up to 8 psi and listen for leaks and spray soapy water
You more than likely have a intake leak use a propane torch that is unlit and go around your intake and specifically injector cups with the engine cold but running it will rev up or idle differently. Whe you find the spot. Just be carefully of alternator and obviously flames
No effect on mileage sounds better and little more power. You can spacer the rear o2's. If your worried about the environment don't buy stuff online. Or preach in the Congo
No offence meant
Mine is a 2005 with 180 000 kilometres on it and I have semi rebuilt it 40000 ago. It really depends on your climate and how often you dry your desiccant out or replace your moisture filter. Really is yours poping fuses and making a racket?
It came as a kit with literally everything to do a retro fit bad news is i got it from landrover 1200.00 bucks aparently i could have got it from my usuall dealer autocamping but I was in a time crunch.
The pump did operate and it will get you off your bumps but will require a reflash.
Some places use acetylene or propane it should be obvious do not spray flammable fluids in a hot engine lol at the shop we do this often. But do what you want. Use caution and the acetylene is for small very hard to find leaks like 4.3 vortex intake leaks and so on
No problem do you have access to some carb kleen and that is how its spelt lol or intake medic? When its running if you spray around and hit the leak area you will hear the engine rev up its a cheap and easy way to look for leaks obviously tho dont spray ur right on your exhaust or anything it's...
I would say so but generally a air leak after the maf would result in a hunting or high rpm at idle. You will hear a wish like that because the air passing by the throttle valve
Also everyone should have one of these
Plug it in after your maf un cap your oil filler and air it up to 15psi and simply listen or spray soapy water.
Don't use high pressure
