Removing the cat's

Hi guys my air bag light has decided to stay on I have done a hard reset and still stays on had the fault cleared but comes on again they say it is the safety retainer on the drivers side the part where the safety belt clips into. There are only one set of wires that go to this unit and they are for the safety belt light which has been tested and all good there. Any one had similar problem I need help please.
2005 LR3 V8 SE.

Rover guy is correct its not as simple as taking the cats off i am still tuning mine.
