Door is acting strange when i open it
If I don't have the key in my hand, the unlocked door opens normally. With the key, It acts as if the car is locked, something clicks in the door and the blinkers blink. Even if the door is open, if I pull on the handle again, I can hear the mechanism in the door clicking and the blinkers... -

part numbers - updated crossover pipes?
I'm curious about the rear crossover. Do you have a part number? I did the front at 75,000 miles. Neither rover parts nor my mechanic mentioned anything about a rear? -

Did you check for playing cards in your spokes? I kid, I kid. But yeah a lot more info would be needed. Internet diagnosing is pretty tough. -

LR4 to Defender direct comparison questions
Do you notice the larger turning radius of the Defender, either on or off road? It's a head scratcher why it would be over 5' bigger. That's one of the many many things I love about the LR3 & 4. It's easier to maneuver and park than most SUVs, and many cars.- roverman

I actually never even considered the ball joints. I thought the rubber bushings were the only issue, Guess I didn't pay enough attention. Anyway, I appreciate the heads up! -

Rear Winch
I can't help with any certainty about the hitch question but I'd be a little leery of it. I'd much rather hook a portable winch up to the giant tow hook back there. Have you considered sand ladders? Would they have helped you in your predicament? They work going forward and reverse ;) -

OEM Hitch Receiver Pin doesn't seem to be engaging all the way?
I don't think you could take the key out if it wasn't working correctly. I am having a different (I think) problem and that is when I put my hitch in, the little release pin doesn't quite connect with the metal above it to do its releasing of the big pin, like by a mm or 2. My solution was to... -

Storage Mod
I had a 5 seat LR3, loved the storage area. So literally the first thing I did when I got my LR4 is pull the third row out and build a hinged and carpeted piece of plywood to cover the new found space. Voila, storage! -

Can a 2013 LR4 be upgraded to Heavy Duty?

Yeah the last thing I’d want in a wrangler is a Hemi. It’s just not the engine for it. With gearing ratios I always had plenty of torque in my ‘78 Jeep. What was that, about 100 ft lbs? LOL Edit: Just looked it up, 90 hp and 176 ft lbs. A BEAST! -

LR4 vs Defender
If Land Rover had a lick of sense, they'd fire McGovern and buy these guys out ASAP. This is EXACTLY what the Defender should have been. Jeep and Mercedes knew how to do it and here's Land Rover 'McGoverning' yet another classic.
