mmmmk,
i just purchased my first land rover, a used 02 discovery SE that has a trailer hitch but no wireing for the trailer to plug into..now i know that you have heard this one a million times, so lets make it a million and one..lol

do i have to get the parts from the dealer ship (80 bucks and 1 1/2 labor) or is there an after market one that i can pick up at walleyworld or else where and do on my own...you guys rock i know you can help!

p.s. if there is such a part any advice on hooking it up would also help.

thanks in advance Khogz

Yes there are a number of kits out there, wether you want/can do it is based on your electrical skills. It is a little involved to do and if you order a kit, it will come with instructions.
Another scourse for the kit would be thru Atlanti British. Do you have a trailer, if not I would suggest you wait until you do so you can set the truck up to match the trailer.
Good luck with your new truck,
Mike J.

One more thing to think about with your Discovery (and you may already know this), the wires for the plug are "stored" behind one of the rear brake-light faceplates (I think)...

Yes, the part you need to access is behind the right rear tail light, and from there you work.

Let us know how it turns out. I will be doing mine in a couple weeks so if you discover anything "unique" to wiring the Discovery I am all ears...
