Hey fellas,
I have a 2000 disco that won't start. I mean nothing, not even a click. It first started when my son put the key in the ignition without turning it and the rear wiper came on by itself. then we turned the key to the on position and tried the switch and it still would'nt turn off till we turned the key off and removed it. Also the windows or door locks won't work. M and S are lit up on the dash but not blinking. We did change the battery, but still nothing.
Any ideas ??

If the battery is fully charged, the locking and unlocking the drivers door 4 times in a row. This may help.

My money is on a bad ignition switch or possibly a contaminated ECU.

i tried that in that sequence; still nothing. I don't get how changing the battery has caused such a mess, lol

That sounds expensive , but may be necessary. It was running fine till we changed the battery.

Does anything else work? Changing the battery didn't cause the issues, if sadly it is an ECU (I was hoping for not being that) then it could be because of water got on the ECU or Moisture. Could also be the fuse block under the hood... If corrosion got in there it will cause all kinds of weird issues.

Resetting the alarm will not correct this problem. How mechanical are you?
