2001 RR. My fuel gauge reads empty (light on), but it only takes 20 gallons or so.

The capacity is 26 gallons. Should it be this far off. I find it hard to imagine that there is a planned 6 gallon reserve. Is this a common issue? Anyone have experience with this? Any comments before I buy a new sender?

I was able to fill ~90+ litres when my gauge reads 1/2needle below zero. I think it can take more, but last litres are pain in the ***. Needs very slow pumping and usually pump timer cuts out before tank is filled 100%.

I just bought a 2002 RR and noticed the same. I find when the pump shuts off automatically, if I have the patience, I can still get in another four gallons, but it takes forever.
