Hello, great forum and appreciate any advise in advance. My dilemna, i think my stock stereo sucks, i'm actually blown away that in 2006 Rover made these with a small little window display, non-color, almost MS-Dos looking display! The build in Sirius receiver can't even pick up the current sirusxm line-up of stations because the stock system is too old. I don't want to add siriusxm docked somewhere and have been told my only option is to spend about $2500-$3000 to completely blow oout where the current stereo is with a whole new touch based/gps based sytem and **** the GPS window above it (which i never use, my iphone is much easier for gps) not to mention my am/fm (yes i know i can use my iphone through AU but the volume is extremely low) is horrible, mostly am is all staticy. The car is paid off, has 80,000 miles on it and i just want to drive it until it stops and otherwise love it, but the build in stereo REALLY bugs me. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks again

I didn't think it was that bad (I assume you are in the US and have the HK Logic7 system)... 8 years ago when the Sport first came out it didn't look half as dated as it does today, that's for sure. Who cares about the dot-matrix display if it gets the job done, right? The problem is that the system is tightly integrated within the MOST ring, so it's not easy to modify - or even eliminate if you want to maintain some stock capabilities such as steering wheel controls, Bluetooth (if you are so equipped), etc. The estimate they gave you to "redo" the whole infotainment system is probably accurate, I'm afraid.

Regarding AM/FM static, mine had no such issues. You may have some bad grounding between head unit and antenna, get it checked by a qualified car audio shop.

I never listen to sat radio anymore because the compression they use to broadcast 2 million channels of utter crap is just insane, it ruins the listening enjoyment of the handful of channels I actually liked. I had purchased an ACM (audio connectivity module) for my 2006 RRS so that I could connect and listen to my iPod instead - it partially solved the low volume issue out of the AUX input as well. I don't know if that module is still available, though. If your Land Rover dealer no longer carries it, you may find it on eBay every now and then. It was compatible with 2006-2009 RRS.
