2008 Nav DVD

Hi all, new to the site and new (to me) LR3 owner. I have a quick question regarding the 2008 nav update disk.

Are there many changes as compared to the 2006? If so has the look or layout changed?

I currently own a couple of nuvi series garmins and really like the look and layout of them, and they use navteq maps also. I was curious if the new nav for the LR would be a more similar look and feel.

Unfortunately the new maps do not look like a Nuvi or Navigon etc. They are the same look, just more locations, and points of interest on them. It would be nice if Denso (the LR GPS manufacturer) would beef up the GPS a bit.

I figured as much, but was hoping for the best. Now its time to decide to update the factory for the new POI's or just keep using the nuvi. Perhaps they'll give it a new updated look and feel soon.

Does anyone else have an iPhone and find themselves wanting to browse around our NAV by sliding a finger or simplifying the zoom in/out with two fingers? Seems to catch me every day now... LOL
