Wasn't able to find any posts on this...

Anyone had the 60k service done at the dealer?
Cost? What it included?

Debating whether or not to suck up this big nut or do it myself / locally....

I was quoted $28 just for that item today. I suspect all those prices are equally deflated from the stealership rates.

Agree. My dealership wants $100 for the coolant flush alone, and this is a "service special". Edmunds shows about $50 for parts/labor for the same service.

I'm less than 2K miles from the 60K service, so don't have an actual invoice to share yet. Others have already crossed the threshold and may chime in with real world examples...

i don't know how much they will charge you in your area, but stealership in woodbridge,NJ wanted 1130.00 for 60.000 miles service.Crazy people! i ask around and paramus wanted 550 for similar service, except transmission re-flush..??? what for, I don't know ,but this is what woodbridge wanted to scam me for and guess what, they out of business now .So ask around,I ended up doing 50% work required myself with rest done by local indy shop.

Hi Thor-

After checking, the local dealership here is ~ $675 for the required 60K service items.

The best thing you could do for your Rover and you is do it yourself so you have a better idea about what makes your truck tick, we can walk you thru this.

1 Factory air filter
6 Qts. of engine oil
2 feet of 3/16th vacuum tube
2 feet of 5/16th vacuum tube

2 Gallons of OAT, orange coolant, also called DexCool
1 Bottle of Lucas Power Steering additive

1 Can Of Brake cleaner
8 Spark Plugs, I use Bosch Platinum Plus 4's
1 Set of Magnacor 8mm plug wires
1 Serpentine belt
2 Bottles of SeaFoam gas additive
1 T/Stat
1 bottle of WaterWetter or Purple Ice
Hoses and belts, as necessary

60,000 Mile Service or Major Service for High Mileage Used Vehicle just purchased

Bleed the brakes
Flush and change the power steering fluid adding one bottle of additive
Service the tranny adding one bottle of additive
Change the coolant and t/stat
Do an engine flush before changing the oil
Do an induction cleaning
Clean the throttle body
Add fuel additive to full gas tank
Change both of the diffs fluid
Change the t/case oil
Replace the plugs and wires
Replace the air filter
Lube all the drive shaft grease fitting including the 2 slip shafts
Do full inspection of brakes, hoses, bushings etc.

Hopefully I didn't leave anything out

? for DMike -- LR3 Tranny fluid

Mike thats a great list (in fact 2 years ago I did the 60K service on my old disco 2 based off of a post of yours from a few years ago).

Anyways -- I had thought the trannys on these LR3s (us market, auto for the euros here) used some super special (read: expensive and hard to find) transmission fluid. Isnt that the case? Regular old ATF work ?
