So I yanked the heads off. There was a metal gasket that matched the block. LOTS of sealant, which I thought was a little weird. The block looked fine after I cleaned off all the sealant.
The Machine shop had the heads for three weeks. When I got them back they said they had to shave them .006, so hopefully it was just a gasket.
The problem is that I bought a gasket set from Autozone (Beck Arnley, PN 032-2992). They guaranteed it would fit my engine. It doesnt. It fits the heads, tho. The problem is the 4 bolt holes on the outboard side; the engine has them, the heads dont. The old gasket fits the engine, but not the heads.
The heads are casting numbers HRC 2479 10 and HRC 2479 11
No idea what the engine is.
Thanks all!
