96 d1 keyless remote

Does anyone know how or where to get a new remote programed? the dealer want to charge 45$ i think this is highway robbery just to program a remote. expecally if there is a cheaper better way.

It is highway robbery. I paid $40 through the dealer. Takes them 5 minutes. I don't think you have another option. At least, when I did it I could not find another way to get it done. Good luck and let us know if you find another way.

96+ two button remotes - you doomed to use dealer.
94-95 (one button) you can allegedly do it yourself, altough i failed miserably when tried to do mine. And closest LR dealership is far far away. So i am sticking with keys

plus its 45$.. I mean come on - you owning luxury SUV..
