Hey, all. I’m wanting to be able to put a mag mount ham antenna on my roof rack for remote trips. I’d be interested in knowing how anyone else routed the cable for something like this? I’d love to be able to leave the cable in place and think that wherever it exits the cab is waterproof.

On mine the coax runs through door jamb no problems. I've got a 7db antenna magnetic mount that works pretty good with an amp inside.

Well that would have been good to know before I ordered lithium batteries, solar panels, and a remote relay switch (same as in video) on Amazon (delivered today). My front light bar and rear spots are mounted to my roof rack. Just been puzzling out the best way to power them. My way should work and provides an entirely separate electrical system from the LR4s main battery, but the video wiring install is simpler and cleaner.

Yeah, the A pillar is a great suggestion. Thanks! I had googled, but didn’t think to look for other wiring routing. IIRC there’s a firewall pass-through on the driver’s side. I’ll just have to figure that out, and how to cut and recriminp the antenna connector which will be too big for any reasonable firewall hole.
