97 Disco Cd Changer Not Working!

Just purchased my first landy, a 97 Discovery ES. Over the moon with it.

Everything is good, except the cd changer does not seem to work. I press the eject button and it briefly flashes then nothing, the radio reads CD Error. The radio is factory fitted and the changer is a DC082.

Any thoughts as i am off on a long road trip this weekend?

I had the same problem with my 98 Discovery when I first purchased it.

I found that the eject button had done its job but the cassette unit had not been fully released so I removed the unit from under the seat, took the lid off and found that the cassette unit was slightly stuck. I gently pushed the cassette unit from behind with a long screw driver and it just popped out!

It then happened again a couple of months later and found that the release bit on the cassette just needed a bit of help. Pushed this again with a long screw driver ….jobs a good un! Since then I have had no problems.
