I am looking to change my stock wheels with a steel rim. I currently have the standard 16 inch rim. I would like to go to a 17 inch rim. Is this possible? If so, what size tire will be the largest I can go without putting a lift to accomodate the tire size increase? I live in South Texas and i'm making this my hunting vehicle and would like a little bigger tire.

Thanks,
Andy

You would be better off going 15 inch steel and going with a 31 inch tire IMHO, tires are cheaper and with some minor cutting and a lift will do better for you... either way overall tire size can not exceed 31 inches without major body work.

I have a 2 inch lift and as far a cutting... rear fender will need cutting as well as the front bumper if still stock.

Depending on how wide of a tire you go with it may still rub on hard articulation, I know mind does...

Cutting is a preference of how you want to do it... but with the tires mounted you will see what needs trimmed. The fender areas are not rounded, but shaped oddly. The rear of the rear fender I cut almost 2 inches off, and I no longer have a stock front bumper, so no trim for me.
