99 range rover temp gauge and check engine light not working

Recently purchased this vehicle and need to do some overhauls on it. One thing I haven't found in the manuals are how to troubleshoot and check why portions of the instrument panel aren't working.

Temperature gauge stopped working after new radiator, thermostat, coolant reservoir and eng temp sensors were all replaced. Any clue why and where to start looking?

Also found out the check engine light in inoperable. Would like for it to be functional.

Would appreciate any help for these things.

Temp sensor, you or whom ever did work probably didn't plug it back in.

Check Engine light doesn't work? That could be a burnt bulb or a bad ECU or ? not sure.
