I just got my service manual in the mail today, new set of injectors are due to arrive on Friday, and a replacement transfer case should be here in the next day or so............. So I have a busy weekend planned.. This should take care of the problems I have with my '94 D1.. Any suggestions?? Hints?? Tips?? Volunteers?? $250 for the injectors, $475 for the transfer case, and I still have less than $3500 in it..

I would love to volunteer, but this weekend is way too busy for me

Lucky for me I have a brother-in-law with a nice garage and a huge supply of tools....

Wow, good price on the injectors. I changed mine a few months back, but it didn't improve much in the way of my misfire problem. ('96D1 4.0)

When I took off the plenum cover, I had enough play in everything to just move it out of the way without disconnecting everything from it.
Make sure you have a soft mallet on hand to break loose the plenum cover and the plenum (not sure about the terminology there, the one part and the other part.)
Make sure you bleed the fuel rail prior to removing the fuel line!!!!
The book says to remove the fuel pump relay up in the passenger's kick panel, but I never could find it...lots of relays, but which one? None matched the description in the book (or the super-detailed drawing...big fat arrow pointing to the glove box vicinity!) Nothing is labeled up there, either!
I pulled the fuse in the engine comp't and ran it for a minute. I still had fuel pressure in my rail...suggest you use a rag and release the pressure at the valve stem on the rail. You'll still have fuel in the line, but it won't spray at you.
My fuel rail did not want to let go of the injectors. Takes a little patience.
I applied some red high temp grease to the injector o-rings prior to ass'y.

Good luck.
