Acetone in fuel

An article was sent to me today about acetone in the fuel system.

I am not a chemist, nor a fuel specialists, but what may be the validity of this account?

I don't really belive it but I'll test it on one of our test engines and post the results, toluene however can be used to boost octane, and is a part of gasoline anyway

Different chemicals disolve different things. Be careful adding things like acetone or ethanol to high mileage vehicles. Crap that has accumulated in the fuel system as sediment/solids that aren't picked up, or are coating the lines, can be disolved by the new chemcals and end up fouling your system.
