Alarm goes off during ignition

Hi all,

The alarm goes off when turning on the ignition in 2003 Disco and it does not start. My friend has taken my disco currently and he is facing this issue. Please help!!

Possible dead battery in the remote.

These are the two things I tried but did not work..

1. Replaced the battery in the remote key.
2. Tried the unlock and lock using the key in the drivers door.

More details on the issue:

Unlock the car with the remote key, insert the remote key in the position II, turn the key to position III the engine tries to start but suddenly something shuts it off. During this time all the hazard, turn signal lights turns on and will blink until I press something on the remote key. Also checked my battery by verifying the time in the clock. All dome lights work properly as well.

Please help me to analyze the issue further. Thank You!!
