I have the same rattle. I have a feeling that it's the lower tailgate door - on the higher (license plate) side. When I yank on the lower tail gate in the closed position it rattles at the anchor point (don't know what the name of the part is that locks it in place - looks like an oversize nail sticking out from the body). Anyone know if it's possible to tighten the anchor points? Also, my original and worse rattle was my actual license plate, make sure to check that as well.
