attaching a classic range rover body to a new range rover sport

Hi all, I am new to this forum, and wanted to see if anyone has attached the Series 1 Range Rover body to another chassis? I love my 1994 Range Rover, but the engine just died and I am a new dad. I thought about buying a used 2009 range rover sport (it has the identical wheel base as my 94 county LWB) and just putting the body of my 94 on the 2009. They are both Frame-on-body. That way I can have all the new safety upgrades and reliability but keep a piece of my beloved 1994. Has anyone ever done anything like this and can it be done?
