Hi all!! I was using the AC today, parked the LR at home and left it running so it would be cool for the wife. When she got in, the blower had quit. I tried heat and AC and all the settings. I looked at the fuses and found that Relay FL12 had blown. Now, they shouldn't just blow, so i assume something demanded more of a draw than it should and the fuse went pop. I did smell a weird smell when driving but assumed it was something that she had spilled in the vehicle at some point and the heat of the day made it come out.

Should i be looking at the blower or the resistor? I don't have heat or ac on either side of the vehicle so should that mean that it is the resisitor? Sorry for the questions but it is my first LR and the first thing that has really gone wrong. Aside from that we absolutely LOVE it!! I doubt we will ever be without one now. Anyway, anyone got an idea? Thanks!!!!

I'm confused about which devise actually failed... was is a blown fuse or did the relay fail?

I have had fuses blow for no apparent reason & relays fail in the same fashion, not in the LR, but in other vehicles, so it is possible that you could just replace the part that failed and go on with no consequence.

Sorry for the confusion. It was a fusible link (FL12) which runs the blower fan i believe. It is a 40amp fusible link. I guess i was kinda scared to put a new one in, in case there was an issue and the next one didn't pop in time. Like i said, i did notice a weird smell, before it happend. I just don't really want to tear the dash apart if i don't need to!

I had the same thing happen to mine. 05 HSE. The blower just burnt up and it smelled a little funny in the car. Took it to the dealership. They replaced it for $300 parts and labor.
