Bluetooth sound over speakers

While we are on this subject, does anyone else find that the bluetooth signal is kind of weak? I normally carry my iPhone in the left, front pocket of my pants, but if I try to play music from it there the music starts skipping and buffering. I have to take my phone out and put it somewhere in the center console.

Yes I carry my iPhone 6s in the same pocket and I noticed the same thing on my 2013. Interestingly enough, my phone lives on a Scosche Magicmount over the driver-side vent (closest to the door) and it picks up just fine from there.
