Hi,

I have read many posts....does anyone know how to disengage the bonnet sensor on a 1996 rover 4.0? if i unplug it, will it stop beeping when i hit a bump? The bonnet is closed but get an annoying beep plus digital message on the slightest bump. Thanks, barnaby

its a 1996 range rover 4.0. i can reach the sensor but could unclip it.
i sprayed it with contact cleaner...does it clip in like the other electronic
connectors? i would be happy to leave it unplugged as long as the beeping
and message light go away:)

Sounds like you know how to get to the sensor. Replacing it is very easy. Altho the sensor has a two wires when the bonnet is closed the purple/white wire goes open
when closed the purple/white touches the black wire. Could leave it unpluged and see if
the indicator goes out.
