Ok so I guess a little bit of the mod bug has carried over from my BMW days... And to think I bought 04 Disco because it didn't need much modification. So as the title says... Yes or no to the brush bar? I can pick one (OEM) up New in Box for $ 450 then adding lights soon. I also just picked up a set of G4 challange rear light "guards" (not that they actually would guard against anything as they are flush fit and made of plastic)
So what do you think?

I like the idea of brush bar + extra lights, but I'm not so sure about the rear light guards. If they fit real flush they might be okay. I have seen rear light guards cause real damage to the body when something like a tree limb gets caught in them.

Brush bar doesn't do much except protect from small branches. Any collision will push the bar back into the hood, and damage both brush bar and hood.

Rear lamp guards have a historical tendency to rip off on things.

That said, if you're driving where there are no tightly-tree-lined trails, go for it. But if it's that open a trail, why do you need the guards?
