Can I lift my Disco2 ?

I have a '00 Disco II with ACE (active cornering enhancement) and 18" rims. I am curiouse if i can lift it about 2-4" without having to remove the ACE or if so is it hard to do ? Also I am wondering if i can fit 16" rims on my vehicle with out it hitting my brake calipers? If anyone can send me back some info on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.
