I was all setup to replace the pads on my DII but i couldn't get the damn tires off. I started with the lug wrench to loosen them but they wouldn't budge, put a breaker bar on the wrench and it started to bend. Broke out the impact tools and still nothing. I was wondering if there was a more powerful impact wrench someone could recommend for this? Also i have seen Brembo Rotors on ebay and such, does anyone know if these are any good or the real deal? Never had so much trouble getting a tire off before any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Stuck lugs

Hey,

You might want to try a truck repair shop (semi type) they typically use 1" and larger air tools with mondo compressors to break lugs free.

Something is definitely amiss, they should only be torqued to 103 Ft. lbs.

Unfortunately if you bust lugs you may be at their mercy. Try just having them break the lugs free and retighten for the trip back home.

Good luck.

Use something to lube those lug nuts when you replace them, too. I used marine grease (it's blue), and others have used grease of different types as well. Makes those lug nuts slide right off...

1st time you break them off, it can be a real bear! Suggest you purchase a good breaker-bar, like I did. Otherwise, stomping on them works but you will F-up the nice chrome lug-nut heads. I use some aerosol can stuff called 'bolt breaker', or just mutipurpose spray lubricant -- it's a lube you can spray on the lugs (let it sit for 10-15 mins) then unbolt. Works like magic on rusted stuff, I use it alot.
