Sup Fellas,

I am Shon and joined the forums, thank you for the all the good info. I am new to Range Rover, do alot of work myself so I will be contributing here.

I have an 03 HSE, recently installed the CCFL Halo kit I bought here. Install was pretty easy and came out clean, will post pictures soon.

Initially I connected with the parking lights but they kinda flicker when I turn them on, I guess not enough power in the parking lights to power all the rings up. I recently bought a harness which will take power directly from the battery.

The question is, there is one wire thats connected to the relay on the harness which I need to tap into something that comes on when I unlock the car and goes off when I lock it. There is one more cable which will enable fade in/fadeout effect like the interior light which will be connected to the fotwell light so I cannot tap the other wire the same way.

I did the same thing on my BMW which works like a charm but I cannot figure out where to tap the wire so it can be on all the time. I will post a complete DIY once this is done.

Instructions I followed for my BMW

Here is the video of the the fade effect.

and the picture of the Halos

I was thinking of buying this same kit. How would you rate the degree of difficulty from 1-10? Also, how much did you pay, see they have a make an offer link.

Did you ever solve the electrical issue?

Cheers, Ron

^^ Installation was pretty easy but time consuming. I ended up buying a custom harness that I used on my beemer and re-wired the whole thing. Ever since, it has been working fine. I think when you turn on the ignition, the car's computer sends out a signal to each bulb to check if the bulbs are working and thats what it was doing the whole strobe light effect.

With the custome harness, it also has the remote feature so when I unlock the car, the light fade up and when I lock the car, they dim down and turn off.

^^ The kit costed me $315 with shipping, thats including the LED strip and the harness was $25 with shipping. One of the Inverters gave up but they sent me a replacement free of charge. It comes with 1 year warranty and they are pretty good with customer service.

Hi,

I watched the video, was wondering if the LR lights need the oven bake or they come apart easier? Also, do you have a link to the other harness you bought? Which brightness bulbs did you go for??

Thanks, Ron

PMing the original member...

any guys on here that are regional to NYC i can help you/do the installs for a price because i know it will be a PITA.

yes the housing has to go in the oven, yes the wiring is a little confusing, yes to make it fade in/out you have to tap into different wires in the ECU/interior of the car.
