Check Cooling Level

I have a check coolant level message on my 2006HSE RR. The coolant level is not low; infact remains about one inch above the cold fill mark. The vehicle ia not overheating. I think it is a fault error.
I LIVE ABOUT 250 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND DON'T GO BACK FOR FOUR MONTS FOR SERVICE.
QUESTION IS CAN THIS WAIT THAT LONG AS LONG AS THE COOLANT LEVEL IS OK AND THE VECHILE IS NOT RUNNING HOT.???

Sounds like your coolant level sensor is shot. If you jumper between it's two wires on the connector and the message dissapears on startup, then this is the case.

Thanks. Are the two wires you refer to are little white wires connected to a black plastic plug like thing located under the white coolant reservoir??? If not ; where are they located.??
