Good thoughts around the supercharger oil/coupler. Yes it's under an extended warranty but not factory. I'm having British 4x4 here in Utah do the work which is much much less than the dealer so I may ask while he has it apart if on the cheaper end. If not, that's something I could probably do later on myself. I didn't want my first repair to be pulling the S/C myself :)

Don't be daunted, It’s surprisingly straightforward. I’m putting a video together so that will visually explain everything especially with my jabbering on as well.

Anyhow. I’m half way through the front sway bar bushings, so time is short.

I just bought a 2015 LR4 HSE with 68K from a dealer. After I bought it i joined this forum. As I was reading necessary I ran across issues at approx 60 to 70 relating to the water pump, T Stat and cross over pipes. Should I have these replaced now? From what I can tell this quite expensive to have done. 2K to 2500. Thoughts?

2014-2016 V6SC Coolant Crossover Parts List.

So this is my list:-

LR Stuff

LR090630 Water Manifold. $41.711
LR092992 Water Pipe. $41.811
LR122710 MANIFOLD $99.331
LR097165 Water Pump Assembly $200.62
LR028136 Oil Cooler Tube $22.65
LR117568 Thermostat Unit$73.10
LR041681 Gasket $12.09 (2)
LR011038 Water Manifold Plug $4.41
LR050855 Lower Hose $106.16
LR033994 Outlet Tube $18.16
LR049990 Inlet Tube $42.37
LR011327 Belt $45.52
LR051263 Serpentine Belt $46.82
LR030593 Oil Cooler Tube Seal $7.00
LR048165 Fuel Injection Throttle Body Mounting Gasket $22.96
LR011221 Clip $4.56 (2)

Eaton Stuff

Coupling https://www.ebay.com/itm/112433704125 $64.99
Oil GM 8 oz Supercharger Oil Change Kit (2 bottles) Fits Jaguar Land Rover ACDelco $28.49

Now I know that some of these items are a bit pricey, but for me it was worth it.

When I came to do the job it turned out that the lower pipe for the thermostat (LR050855 Lower Hose $106.16) and the thermostat had recently been replaced, some time prior to me purchasing the vehicle, so I didn't change them this time. Also the throttle body gasket isn't essential but mine was a bit battered and I changed it out, they are reusable.

The clips (LR011221 Clip $4.56) that hold one of the hoses under the supercharger body turned into dust as soon as I touched them so make sure you have these on hand, and they're not necessarily a stock item.

Hope it helps, Also not all of the supercharger belts are created equal, LR changed the crank pulley at some point I believe so check that one against the vin at your friendly dealer.

Stu.

Hey Stu, my dealer has also included ROLR041680 which is the intake gasket, but i don't see that on your list. thoughts?

thanks

It's way more expensive to have done after they fail. We are having ours done at an Indi tomorrow. Out the door price is $1400 and something. Our Dealer quoted us $1900. For us, it's an insurance policy. We just rolled over 50k miles and ours is a 2015. There have been reports of v6 failures already. Don't want my wife stranded and don't want to risk hatching an engine. We still have 2 1/2 years left on our extended warranty; unfortunately, it does not cover these parts which should tell you something!

That’s the gasket for the inter cooler to scroll section of the supercharger, ie. Upper to lower halves. It’s a metal gasket with a silicon sealing surface. If you’re careful you shouldn’t need to replace this. The same goes for the throttle body to inter cooler gasket.

On mine the crossover where it enters the block at the front was totally wasted and only held in place by the Allen screws and gunked coolant. That was at 55k miles. Granted it was probably mostly city driving in LA by the previous owner.
I plan on inspecting at 55k next time and see the degradation with the new design.
