If I get a D2 front shaft, with output flange, will it bolt right in to my D1?
What would I do to rebuild the shaft before install?
How much should I be looking at for a used shaft?

I don't think the D2 shaft will fit the D1, and even if it did why... the D1 has greaseable U-Joints were the D2 shaft does not have this.

Sorry should have been more clear...
Im installing an RTE 3" lift, which means ill need a double cardan drive shaft in case there are any vibes.
Im just gonna do the DS anyways, while im under there.
Also, after I get it from the breakers Ill rebuild it with greasable u-joints, hopefully stronger than original!
Ive heard that a number of guys with lifts have gone this route, instead of getting a custom Tom Woods or GBR...

It works -- you need the adapter for the transfercase flange.
