hi can anyone help me out , i have a 92 discovery 3.5efi with a bedini LPG system fitted i do not know which model it is only that it has twin sill tanks fitted with Achille MT 88/244 multivalve/safety valves . untill a few months ago it ran fine on LPG or petrol. i could start it up on LPG on a morning without it running on petrol first or i could have the 3 position control switch set to start on petrol then switch itself onto gas and everything worked fine . then a while ago it started playing up while running on LPG when i took my foot off the throtle pedel while driving if approaching a junction for example , when i put my foot back down to pull away the engine would just dye and the revs will not pick up . if i flick the control switch to petrol the engine revs pick up straightaway and the car pulls away as normal then when the revs reach around 2000-25000 switch back to LPG and the engine revs will pick up as normal . this problem does not happen when running on petrol and as i said never happened before this . i fitted a new set of spark plugs and a new coil thinking this may cure the problem but still the same , i wondered if the distributer was the problem but if this was the case i would expect the problem to happen on petrol as well . i have checked the LPG components under the bonnet and everything seems OK . i was wondering if the problem is with the wireing going to the LPG solenoid on the vapouriser. when i test for power with the engine running on LPG should there be a constant positive 12 volts to the soleniod ? as i would expect it to have but as i remember when i tested it ( its a while ago and i cannot remember for certain ) but one of the wires to the solenoid seemed to be going on and off ? but i do not know if this is normal as it has to be wired into the original EFI system somewhere. does anyone have a wiring diagram for this system or can tell me how it should be wired . how does the 3 position control switch wire in ? hpoe someone can help me out as i love the V8 but cannot afford the cost of the petrol it drinks . if not i have a 200tdi and gearbox and am going to do a deisel conversion on it . look forward to hearing from anyone who has had the same problem and anyone who can help me out. thanks.
